Drug-trafficking investigation leads to charges, recovery of weapons and stolen property

A drug-trafficking investigation led to a warrant on a downtown residence where officers located several loaded firearms, stolen high-end bikes, and more than $70,000 in illicit drugs.

In early March 2022, the District 1 Operations Team initiated an investigation into a suspected drug trafficker. The investigation revealed activity consistent with drug trafficking was occurring at a residence in the 100 block of 14 Avenue S.E. On Tuesday, April 5, 2022, a search warrant was executed on the property with the assistance of the Tactical Unit and District 1 patrol officers. Two men found within the residence were arrested.

“Drug trafficking is never done in isolation. It often involves the use of weapons and violence, while being connected to property crime, such as break and enters and theft. Information from the public is critical to our success in identifying and locating the source of such activity,” says District 1 Staff Sergeant Kurt Jacobs.
