Dozens of charges laid in drug and weapon seizure
We have charged a man and a woman with more than 60 criminal offences and seized several weapons and drugs following an investigation that occurred last month.
In June 2024, our officers became aware of a man who was breaching imposed court conditions, which prohibited him from possessing weapons and drugs. Officers began investigating and learned he was associated to a residence in northwest Calgary.
On Monday, June 24, 2024, our officers executed a search warrant for both a vehicle and a residence located in the 8800 block of 36 Avenue N.W., where several items were seized:
- A loaded semi-automatic .223 calibre rifle with a prohibited magazine
- A loaded semi-automatic .22 calibre rifle with a drum magazine and the serial number removed
- A loaded .32 calibre revolver with no serial number
- Approximately 115 grams of methamphetamine
- Approximately 188 grams of heroin
- Approximately 80 grams of Fentanyl
- Approximately 10 grams of cocaine
As a result, a man and a woman were arrested in downtown Calgary and charged.
Jeremy Robert FERGUSON, 27, of Calgary, is charged with:
- 18 counts of possession of a weapon contrary to prohibition order
- Two counts of disobeying a court order
- Two counts of failure to comply with a release order
- Possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking
- Three counts of careless storage of a firearm
- Three counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Three counts of possession of an unlicensed weapon
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle
- Two counts of possession of a loaded, prohibited firearm
- Three counts of possession of a weapon obtained by crime
- Possession of a firearm with an altered serial number
- Operating a vehicle without a licence
He will next appear in court on Wednesday, July 24, 2024.
Journey Marie GODBOUT, 22, of Calgary, is charged with:
- Two counts of failure to comply with a release order
- Three counts of possession of a weapon contrary to prohibition order
- Possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking
- Three counts of careless storage of a firearm
- Three counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Three counts of possession of an unlicensed weapon
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle
- Three counts of possession of a weapon obtained by crime
- Possession of a loaded, prohibited firearm
- Possession of a restricted firearm with ammunition
- Possession of a firearm with an altered serial number
She will next appear in court on Monday, July 22, 2024.
