Calgary Culture Days kicks off early on August 31 with Music on the Avenue. Head down to Stephen Avenue between 1:30 and 3 p.m. to enjoy the sounds of local live music outside the Palace Theatre (219 – 8 Ave. S.W.), featuring performances by Amy Hef, Stephen Fletcher, Daniil and Sashaé.
Some of the other exciting feature events taking place during Calgary Culture Days include Fiesta Filipino, Phil in the Park, Taste of Italy and many more. Visit calgary.ca/CultureDays to explore the full list of events and activities happening throughout the city during September.
Calgary Culture Days coincides with Alberta Day on September 1, which marks the anniversary of Alberta becoming a province in 1905. To celebrate, the Government of Alberta will host a full day of free, family-friendly events at Heritage Park from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Festivities include a made-in-Alberta marketplace, local beer gardens, an interactive Kids Zone, cultural performances and live music. Whether you’re an art enthusiast, a music lover, or simply looking to experience something new, Calgary Culture Days has something for everyone.
Event organizers are expected to adhere to water restrictions currently in place and limit and monitor discretionary water use to ensure Culture Days events do not impact Calgary’s water supply during this critical time.
