Dashcam footage and witnesses sought in pedestrian hit-and-run collision

We are asking for the public's help to identify a vehicle and driver connected to a hit-and-run collision involving a pedestrian that occurred in the community of Somerset.

Sometime between 8 and 8:30 a.m., on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2025, a man in his 80s was struck by a vehicle in an intersection near the Somerset-Bridlewood CTrain station. The man was walking westbound in a marked crosswalk across Somervale Court S.W. when he was hit by a white cargo van turning left off westbound Shawville Gate S.W. onto southbound Somervale Court S.W.

The man sustained a non-life-threatening injury. The driver of the van did not remain at the scene or report the incident to police.

Investigators are asking for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage from the area at the time of the collision to come forward to help advance the investigation.
