Critical-injury collision

The Calgary Police Service continues to investigate a critical-injury collision yesterday afternoon in the community of Tuscany.

At approximately 4:50 p.m., on Thursday, May 26, 2016, a seven-year-old girl was playing in front of her house when she was struck by a pick-up truck backing out of her family’s driveway in the 200 block of Tuscany Glen Park N.W.

The girl was standing on the sidewalk when the 2012 Chevrolet Silverado being driven by her father backed over her.

The girl was knocked down by the truck and sustained serious head trauma. She was transported to the Alberta Children’s Hospital in critical condition.

The Calgary Police Service Traffic Section is continuing to investigate the collision. Neither speed nor alcohol are considered factors.
