CPS officer seriously injured during incident in Legacy

A Calgary Police Service member has been seriously injured following an incident this morning in the community of Legacy.

At approximately 3 a.m., a District 8 member was attending a suspicious person call in the 200 block of Legacy Boulevard S.E., when he approached a suspicious vehicle. The driver of the vehicle attempted to flee from the officer, striking him.

The officer sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital where he is being treated. He was taken by EMS to hospital in serious, but stable condition.

CPS continues to search for the vehicle involved in this incident. It is believed to be a stolen 2017, white, Ford F-150, with an after-market bumper.
