Cowboys Park engagement opens to the public today

Beginning today, Calgarians can provide input on the future of Cowboys Park.  

The online Engage portal is now open to the public. We want Calgarians to know that while the park’s core function and layout remain the same (the skate park, beach volleyball, basketball courts and dynamic downtown location are not changing), we want their input on how the park can best be utilized through adjustments and activations to deliver the activities they wish to enjoy. 

Work is underway to improve utilities and electrical infrastructure for the festival space, which has been guided by the sponsorship agreement and construction standards. In alignment with this work, we want to hear how we can make park users' visits to Cowboys Park more enjoyable. That includes things like how they will experience the park, what activity options they want to enjoy and what support amenities and accessibility or safety improvements may be required 

“Cowboys Park remains a vibrant public park, open to the community and visitors alike,” says Allison Fifield, Community Parks Initiatives Lead. “We want to hear your ideas on how to make its next chapter more welcoming, accessible and attractive year-round.” 

Public feedback is an important component of developing next steps for Cowboys Park and will inform our plans along with professional / industry expertise, market trends and City policies. 

We will share a What We Heard Report back to the community in May and leverage its themes and priorities in planning future phases of work at Cowboys Park.
