Getting around
Special event road closures, detours and construction
There will be significant traffic impacts this weekend to accommodate special events and construction. Visit Calgary.ca/trafficinfo for up-to-date road closure and incident information in all quadrants of the city.
Calgary Transit
Calgary Transit will be operating on a Sunday-level service on Labour Day. Over the long weekend (Aug 31-Sep 2), Red Line will have closures from City Hall - Chinook and at Fish Creek-Lacombe.Many schedules will be revised as part of the Fall Service Changes. Parking
On-street parking is free in ParkPlus zones on Sept. 2 and holiday rates will be in effect in select Calgary Parking Authority surface lots and parkades. Holiday rates are listed on the parking locations map or at calgaryparking.com.

Catch a wave at Village Square Leisure Centre
Village Square Leisure Centre will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 2. Regular admission applies.

Enjoy Calgary’s pathways and bikeways
Calgary has an extensive network of multi-use pathways available to enjoy, whether for walking, running, in-line skating or cycling. Staying safe
Playground zones
Remember to take extra caution and reduce speed when driving near playgrounds this weekend. Playground zones are in effect 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. every day of the year. Also, as students start returning to school after the long weekend, traffic gets a little heavier on our streets, sidewalks, bikeways and pathways. Stay safe by slowing down and taking care.

Water safety
Stay safe on Calgary’s waterways this long weekend - wear a lifejacket and steer clear of drugs and alcohol while on the rivers.
