Getting around

Special event road closures, detours and construction
There will be significant traffic impacts to accommodate special events and construction this weekend. Visit calgary.ca/trafficinfo for up-to-date road closure and incident information in all quadrants of the city. 

A reminder that work on 17 Avenue S.W. will resume on September 4. Visit calgary.ca/17ave for updates.

Calgary Transit
Calgary Transit will provide a Sunday level of service on September 3. For more information on fares, schedules and fall service changes, please visit calgarytransit.com or @calgarytransit.

Parking
On-street parking is free on September 3 and holiday rates will be in effect at select Calgary Parking Authority surface lots and parkades. Holiday rates are listed on the parking locations map or at calgaryparking.com.

Catch a wave at Village Square Leisure Centre
Village Square Leisure Centre will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 3. Regular admission applies.

Wading pools, spray parks and outdoor pools
Enjoy the last weekend of summer at a wading pool, spray park or outdoor pool. For more information visit calgary.ca/sprayparks

Enjoy Calgary’s pathways and bikeways

Staying safe

Playground zones
As students return to school, traffic gets a little heavier on our streets, sidewalks, bikeways and pathways. Remember to take extra caution and reduce speed when driving near playgrounds or schools. A reminder that playground zones are in effect 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. every day of the year.

Fire safety
There are no fire bans or advisories in effect. Always use caution when disposing of smoking materials or using outdoor open flames like barbeques and fire pits. Learn more about fire prevention and home safety at calgary.ca/fire.
