City Services: Holiday Season 2022

We're adjusting our hours of operation for the winter holidays.

Things to do

New Year’s Eve fireworks

Ring in the New Year with fireworks set from atop the iconic Calgary Tower. Watch the fireworks live at Olympic Plaza or via a livestream video by visiting Calgary.ca/NYE. Both experiences will feature a synchronized soundtrack to the fireworks curated by CJSW 90.9 FM. The program will begin at 11:55 p.m. with a blessing from Indigenous Elder Clarence Wolfleg, followed by a countdown to midnight with Mayor Jyoti Gondek and the spectacular eight-minute fireworks display.

What else can you do:

  • The outdoor public skating rink at Olympic Plaza will be open at 10 a.m. and skating hours will be extended to midnight.
  • Check out VisitCalgary.com to learn about local events and activities happening near you.
