Getting around
Calgary Transit
On Monday, Aug. 5, we will be operating buses, CTrains and On Demand on a Sunday level of service. Visit calgarytransit.com for details and to plan your trip.
On Friday, Aug. 2, the northbound track at Victoria Park/Stampede Station will be closed starting at 8 p.m. until end of service. Trains heading in both directions will be using the southbound platform only.
From Saturday, Aug. 3 until the very early hours of Tuesday, Aug. 6 the Red Line will be completely closed between City Hall/Bow Valley College and 39 Avenue Stations for scheduled work. Shuttle buses will provide service between these stations, and a separate Football Express shuttle will run between Chinook and Banff Trail Stations on Sunday, Aug. 4 for the Stampeders game.
The CTrains will be fully back up and running by start of service on Tuesday, Aug. 6. More details and shuttle route information can be found at calgarytransit.com/CTrain-service.
Parking
Enjoy free parking in on-street ParkPlus zones on Monday, Aug. 5. Weekend rates apply at all Calgary Parking parkades and surface lots. Please note that regular rates will be in effect at partner lots such as TELUS Spark, Calgary Stampede, Calgary Zoo and Heritage Park.
The Calgary Parking Contact Centre and Impound Lot will be closed on Monday, Aug. 5. For more information, please visit Calgary Parking.
Road construction and traffic safety
- Peigan Trail S will be closed between 36 and 52 Street S.E. from August 2 (starting at 9:30 a.m.) to August 11. Detour signage will be posted in the area.
- 4 Ave Flyover reduced to a single lane.
- Mission Bridge between 26 Avenue S.W. and Roxboro Road reduced to a single lane in each direction.
- Sunnyside Flood Barrier: Eastbound Memorial Drive closed between 9 Street N.W. and Centre Street with two-way traffic on the north side westbound lanes.
- The Macleod Trail pedestrian crossings at 13 Avenue S.E, 14 Avenue S.E. and 17 Avenue S.E. will be closed. To access Stampede Park, pedestrians and cyclists should detour to 12 Avenue S.E. or 25 Avenue S.E.
- The right-hand lane on northbound Macleod Trail will be closed between 13 and 17 Avenue S.E. Two northbound lanes will remain open at all times.
Visit calgary.ca/trafficinfo for a list of current traffic incidents, road closures, special event closures and detours. Leave plenty of time to get to where you need to go and expect delays in construction zones.

Facility hours and closures
Free public swimming on Aug. 5 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. and 3 to 4:30 p.m. at the following locations:
- Acadia Aquatic & Fitness Centre (9009 Fairmount Dr. S.E.)
- Inglewood Aquatic Centre (1527 17 Ave. S.E.)
- Thornhill Aquatic & Recreation Centre (6715 Centre St. N.W.)
Due to the popularity of our free swims, we ask that you only attend one time slot. Pools may be cleared at 2:30 p.m. to make room for new customers.
