We're adjusting our hours of operation for Heritage Day on August 7, 2023.
Getting around
Calgary Transit
On Monday, August 7, we will be operating buses, CTrains, and On Demand on a Sunday level of service. Visit calgarytransit.com for details and to plan your trip.
Parking
No payment is required for on-street parking on Heritage Day. Weekend rates will be in effect at Calgary Parking parkades and surface lots. Our Contact Centre and Impound Lot will also be closed. For more information, please visit Calgary Parking.
Road and lane closures due to Beltline Downtown Utility Relocation project
There are two major projects that will impact vehicle traffic in the Downtown and Beltline from early August until the end of 2023:
- 5 Avenue S.W. between 2 and 3 Street S.W. – Long weekend closure, followed by three lane closure until late September.
- 11 Avenue and 4 Street S.E. – Intersection closure and closure of Olympic Way.
The closures are required for a deep excavation of underground utilities that are currently in the path of the future Green Line. For more details on these closures and detour maps visit the Green Line website.
Road construction and traffic safety
Visit calgary.ca/trafficinfo for a list of current traffic incidents, road closures, special event closures and detours. Leave plenty of time to get to where you need to go and expect delays in construction zones.

The following facilities will be open on Monday, August 7, 2023:
- Glenmore Reservoir Kayak & Canoe Rentals: open 9:30 a.m. – 8 p.m. See website for Glenmore Reservoir boat launch status.
