City Services: Heritage Day 2021

We're adjusting our hours of operation for Heritage Day on Monday, Aug. 2, 2021.

Getting around

​Calgary Transit 

Calgary Transit will provide Sunday level of service on Heritage Day, Monday, Aug. 2. For more information on fares, schedules and service changes, please visit calgarytransit.com.

Beginning July 31 until the early morning of August 3 (before service starts), the Red Line will be closed between Chinook and City Hall stations.

  • The Red Line from the north terminates at City Hall station (north platform) and runs on a 17-minute schedule.
  • The Red Line from the south terminates at Chinook station and runs on a 15-minute schedule.
  • Buses will replace train service between Chinook and City Hall stations, running every 5 minutes.

Beginning July 31 until the early morning of August 3 (before service starts), the Blue Line will be closed between McKnight-Westwinds and Rundle stations.

  • The Blue Line from the north terminates at McKnight-Westwinds station and runs on a 10-minute schedule.
  • The Blue Line from the south terminates at Rundle station and runs on a 15-minute schedule.
  • Buses will replace train service between McKnight-Westwinds and Rundle stations, running every 5 minutes.

Parking
No payment is required for on-street parking on Heritage Day, Aug. 2. Holiday rates will be in effect at Calgary Parking Authority parkades and select surface lots. Regular rates will be in effect at the Calgary Zoo, TELUS Spark and Heritage Park. Our Impound Lot will also be closed. More information is available at calgaryparking.com.

Glenmore Reservoir
Rent a canoe or kayak, rentals are open and available from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
