City Services: Heritage Day 2020

We're adjusting our hours of operation for Heritage Day on Monday, Aug. 3, 2020.

Getting around

Calgary Transit
Mandatory Face Coverings: beginning August 1, we’re making face coverings mandatory while riding Calgary Transit to help keep you and your fellow riders safe from the spread of COVID-19. Visit calgarytransit.com/safety to learn more.

August 1-4: Beginning August 1 until the early morning of August 4 (before service starts), the Red Line will be closed between Brentwood and Sunnyside stations. Buses will replace train service between Brentwood and Sunnyside stations, running every 2-3 minutes. Visit calgarytransit.com/service-updates for more information and live updates.

August 3: we will provide a Sunday level of service. Check our schedules page to find out when your bus is running.

Roads Paving
Saturday, August 1 will see some paving jobs in Calgary that could cause some traffic delays.

  • 4 Avenue will be paved between 3 Street S.E. and 6 Street S.W.
  • Eastbound James McKevitt Road S.W. will be paved from Fish Creek Boulevard to Millrise Boulevard.

Both of these projects are scheduled for Saturday only, expect work to take place between the hours of 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. – watch for detour signs in the area, and use alternate routes when possible.

Calgary Parking Authority
Holiday rates will be in effect at select CPA surface lots and parkades, and payment is not required for on-street ParkPlus zones on Monday, August 3 for Heritage Day. Regular rates will be in effect at the Calgary Zoo and TELUS Spark, while parking will be free at Heritage Park. CPA's main office location (620 9 Ave SW) and the Impound Lot (400 39 Ave SE) will be closed on August 3.

Reports of illegally parked vehicles may be made to 403-537-7100 option #2 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Online payments and appeals can be made at calgaryparking.com.
