City of Calgary responds to Provincial targeted restrictions

The Government of Alberta today announced some additional targeted restrictions to protect the health system and slow the spread of COVID-19.

We are currently working through the updated Provincial public health measures to understand their impacts on our own operations, services and facilities.

Based on initial interpretation of the Provincial announcement of updated public health measures on Thursday, April 29, starting on Friday, April 30, 2021 all indoor sport, fitness and recreation activities will be suspended until further notice. Outdoor recreational activities are currently allowed.

More information on specific programs and services will be updated on Calgary.ca/covid19 as it becomes available.

In the meantime, please continue to follow restrictions that remain in effect, which can be found at www.alberta.ca/covid19. The City acknowledges how difficult restrictions have been for individuals, families, businesses, and the mental and economic health of our city and we thank all Calgarians and businesses for their efforts to follow Provincial health orders. We encourage Calgarians to continue to adhere to all public health guidance as we work together to reduce the threat to our health and our health care system.
