City of Calgary collaborating with Ritual on launch of “Open For Business” support for local businesses

Today, The City of Calgary has announced they have been working with Ritual on the launch of “Open For Business” - a collaboration with Ritual and DoorDash to help local businesses across Calgary increase their commission-free online sales.

“Calgary businesses continue to navigate the impacts of COVID-19 pandemic, and it’s important that we make every opportunity available to them that could increase their resilience against future setbacks,” said Mayor Naheed Nenshi. “Ritual’s Open for Business program will help local businesses, such as restaurants, keep operating in a safe way, and I am very glad that we are able to provide this opportunity to our business community.”

Through this opportunity, Ritual will provide its commission-free digital ordering platform Ritual ONE to Calgary businesses at no cost through the end of this year. This includes waiving set-up ($99) and monthly subscription fees ($49/month).

All local businesses that enroll in Ritual ONE will receive delivery capabilities powered by DoorDash Drive, its white-label fulfillment platform that powers direct delivery for any business. Calgary partners will receive two weeks of free delivery from Monday, October 26 to Sunday, November 8, 2020. All flat fee delivery fees will be waived for customers and local businesses.

Additionally, any business that completes one delivery order on Ritual ONE powered by DoorDash Drive by December 31, 2020 will receive Ritual ONE free through 2021.

“The City of Calgary is working hard to support business in their recovery and sustainment,” said Sonya Sharp, Leader, Business and Local Economy at The City of Calgary. “We are excited to highlight this opportunity for businesses knowing that these types of supports can make the difference to keeping their doors open.”
