Child injured in hit and run

Police are searching for a driver involved in a hit and run this morning in Deer Ridge where a 17-month-old sustained potentially life-threatening injuries.

At approximately 10:40 a.m., today, Monday, June 22, 2020, police were called to the 0 to 100 block of Deerfield Villas S.E., for reports of a child injured in a hit-and-run collision. A 17-month-old girl was taken to hospital by EMS with potentially life-threatening injuries.

Officers from the CPS Traffic Section are asking for the public’s help to locate the driver of the vehicle involved, believed to be a dark-coloured, or possibly green, SUV. At this time, it is possible that the driver may be unaware of the collision.
