Charges laid in storage facility break and enter

We have charged one man who is believed to be responsible for multiple storage locker break and enters at various locations throughout the city.

On Monday, Dec. 23, 2024, employees from a storage facility contacted police to report a theft from a storage locker in the northeast/southeast community of Mayland Heights. The suspect was allegedly seen leaving the facility with an electric scooter, attempting to balance three boxes filled with unique comic books.

On Thursday, Dec. 26, 2024, police responded to reports of a break and enter at another storage facility located in the southeast community of Douglasdale. It is believed that the suspect entered the storage facility on a scooter, broke into a locker, left the property and then returned with a black Chevrolet Malibu with a covered licence plate. It is believed that the suspect stole large quantity of tools.  

The District 4 Break and Enter Team was assigned to investigate, and after reviewing CCTV footage of the offence were able to identify the suspect.

On Monday, Jan. 27, 2025, a search warrant was executed at a residence located in 2000 block of 50 Street S.E. A search of the property resulted in the recovery of two stolen electric bikes, three boxes of vintage comic books and a large amount of DeWalt and Bosch tools.

Daniel ST. GERMAIN, 46, of Calgary, has been charged with one count of break and enter, two counts of possession of stolen property over $5,000, one count of possession of stolen property under $5,000 and breach of a conditional sentence order. 

ST. GERMAIN is scheduled to next appear in court on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2025.
