Charges laid in northeast shooting

We have charged a youth in relation to a shooting that took place last month in the community of Rundle.

On Thursday, Sept. 30, 2021, at approximately 5:25 p.m., a man was standing at the bus stop, located at 32 Avenue and Rundleside Drive N.E., when he was approached by two males. Following a conversation, one of the males produced a gun and shot the man, striking him in the leg.

The victim was transported to hospital in non-life-threatening condition.

Following an investigation, a youth has been charged in relation to the shooting. Under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the accused cannot be identified.
