Charges laid in homicide investigation - TEATHER

Charges have been laid in the 2008 homicide of Allan Richard TEATHER.

On Thursday, Aug. 15, 2019, the Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit arrested a man in connection with a homicide that occurred in January 2008.

Brian CHENG, 34, of Calgary, has been charged with one count of first-degree murder. CHENG will next appear in court on Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2019.

“All unsolved homicide investigations remain open and our unit continues to investigate these files in hopes of bringing justice to families of victims,” said Staff Sergeant Colin Chisholm. “No matter how much time has passed, we are dedicated to holding people accountable for these crimes.”

The CPS is committed to all victims of crime. In the case of homicide victims, there are often family members and friends who are also victimized by such tragedy. Police would like to remind citizens that help is available from the CPS and other agencies specializing in support services.

The CPS Victim Assistance Support Team (VAST) promotes and advocates for victims of crime and trauma, and provides assistance to both primary victims (persons who have experienced direct injury, loss or trauma) and secondary victims (those who are impacted by the repercussion of a crime or trauma including witnesses, friends, family and co-workers).
