Charges laid in drug trafficking at tattoo business

Following  a Crime Stoppers tip, an investigation into activity consistent with drug trafficking occurring in a tattoo business in downtown Calgary has resulted in one man being charged.

The tip was received in October 2023, and after several investigative avenues were pursued, a search warrant was executed on a tattoo business, located in the 600 block of 17 Avenue S.W. The following items were seized:

  • Cocaine with an estimated street value of nearly $10,000
  • A small amount of fentanyl
  • $1,930 cash
  • Equipment and materials consistent with drug trafficking

Christopher William ENGLISH, 47, has been charged with one count of proceeds of crime and two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking. He will next appear in court on Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2023.
