Charges laid in date robbery
A man and a woman have been charged following an investigation into a robbery that occurred during a date.
In January 2020, a man met a woman through an online dating platform. On Saturday, Feb. 1, 2020, the victim met the woman in person at his downtown apartment. Once inside the apartment, the woman let a man, who was unknown to the victim, into his apartment. The unknown man had partially concealed his face and produced what appeared to be a handgun. The subsequent investigation identified two suspects in March. During the course of the investigation, the male suspect was arrested in an unrelated matter and was connected to the robbery investigation through evidence obtained in a search.
