Charges laid in commercial break and enter investigation

Members of the District 6 General Investigations Unit have charged two men in connection with a series of break and enters and property offences that targeted several Calgary businesses between May and August 2026.

After responding to reports of a commercial break and enter that occurred between 6 p.m., Monday, July 27 and 7 a.m., Tuesday, July 28, 2026, it was discovered that the two suspects gained entry into a fenced yard at Norcan Fluid Power Ltd., located at 5711 80 Ave. S.E., and stole approximately $100,000 worth of specialized and custom electrical equipment.

As part of an ongoing investigation into commercial break and enters, officers identified two suspects believed to be connected to several property-related offences, including this incident and others.

On Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2026, police executed a search warrant in the 100 block of Riverstone Close S.E., where a stolen vehicle was recovered and returned to its rightful owner as well as numerous items of suspected stolen property.

As a result of the investigation, investigators were able to return more than $30,000 worth of various stolen property to the affected businesses. 

Adam Thomas MACARTHUR, 38, has been charged with:

  • Break and enter to commit theft under $5,000
  • Break and enter to commit theft over $5,000
  • Disguise with intent
  • Break and enter and commit mischief to property over $5,000
  • Possession of stolen property
  • Driving an uninsured motor vehicle
  • Possession of a stolen vehicle

MACARTHUR is scheduled to next appear in court on Friday, Sept. 4, 2026.

Douglas Graham WARRINGTON, 37, has been charged with:

  • Break and enter to commit theft under $5,000
  • Break and enter to commit theft over $5,000
  • Possession of a stolen vehicle
  • Driving while prohibited
  • Driving an uninsured motor vehicle

WARRINGTON is scheduled to next appear in court today, Friday, Aug. 28, 2026.

“This investigation demonstrates the value of collaboration between patrol officers, specialized investigative units and our operational support teams,” says District 6 GIU Staff Sergeant Joe Hebert. “Through diligent investigative work, officers were able to connect multiple property crimes, recover stolen property and hold those responsible accountable. We remain committed to disrupting prolific offenders and returning stolen property to victims whenever possible.”
