Charges laid against two men in drug trafficking investigation
Two people have been charged following a drug trafficking investigation that resulted in the seizure of loaded firearms and drug paraphernalia.
Earlier this month, District 4 officers with the District Operations Team became aware of two men believed to be engaging in drug trafficking activities and launched an investigation.
On Sunday, Dec. 11, 2025, officers conducted a traffic stop after a suspected drug transaction in the community of Red Carpet. The two suspects were taken into custody, and a search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of:
Two loaded handguns
Approximately 35.7 grams of suspected cocaine, worth an estimated $3,570
Approximately 2.8 grams of suspected fentanyl, worth an estimated $280
Approximately 66.9 grams of suspected crack cocaine, worth an estimated $6,690
Approximately 30.1 grams of suspected heroin, worth an estimated $7,525
47 oxycodone pills, worth an estimated $940
$5,090 in Canadian currency
Ali Abdullah AHMADI, 19, and Mustafa AHMADI, 23, both of Calgary, have each been charged with:
Four counts of possession of controlled substances for the purpose of trafficking
One count of careless storage of a firearm
Possession of a concealed weapon
Unauthorized possession of a firearm
Unauthorized possession of a firearm in a vehicle
Possession of a loaded prohibited firearm without a certificate
Possession of a firearm with a defaced serial number
One count of proceeds of crime over $5,000
Ali AHMADI carries one additional charge of breaching a prohibition order.
Ali AHMADI and Mustafa AHMADI will next appear in court on Friday, Jan. 2, 2026.
