Charge laid in connection with high school stabbing

We have charged a youth in relation to a stabbing that occurred earlier today at a northeast high school.

We were called at approximately 11:55 a.m., on Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2021, for reports of a stabbing at Bishop McNally High School, located at 5700 Falconridge Blvd. N.E. A 17-year-old inured male was transported to hospital in stable, non-life-threatening condition.

The school was placed into lockdown as police searched the interior of the school and surrounding area for a suspect. The lockdown ended when it was determined that the school was safe.

This afternoon, a 15-year-old youth believed to be responsible for the stabbing was charged with assault with a weapon. The youth cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
