CFD Crews Respond To Two Alarm Structure Fire in Bridlewood
At approximately 5:00 am this morning, Calgary Fire Department (CFD) crews responded to reports of a structure fire at the Pointe of View condominium complex on 162 Ave at 24 St SW. A second alarm was immediately called to ensure adequate resources on scene.
Upon arrival, fire crews faced significant smoke and flame from the roof of the 4-story structure. Firefighters quickly initiated an aggressive interior offensive attack and search while setting up three aerial master streams for an elevated attack. Fire damage to the fourth floor and roof along with water damage throughout the structure was significant.
All residents from the affected block were evacuated and their needs assessed by CEMA at scene. These residents will be displaced from their homes for an undetermined amount of time. No injuries were reported.
CPS assisted and provided traffic and crowd control at scene. Atco and Enmax were dispatched and ensured there were no hazards relating to services. AHS also stood by at scene to address any potential patients.
Fire crews including fire investigators will remain on scene to ensure there is no fire extension and to confirm extinguishment.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
