Celebrating youth with positive ticketing

For the eighth year in a row, we are proud to partner with Circle K convenience stores to acknowledge youth for their positive contributions to the community.

Through Operation Freeze, frontline CPS officers can acknowledge youth they see performing random acts of kindness or displaying helpful behaviour by giving them a coupon for a complimentary Froster drink, redeemable at Circle K stores across Alberta.

CPS officers can reward youth for demonstrating good behaviour, including:

·       Wearing a bike helmet

·       Looking both ways before entering an intersection on foot, blading, biking or skating

·       Being kind to others and helping out, such as holding the door for someone or picking up garbage

·       Always locking up their bikes, garages, cars and homes

“Each year, we look forward to getting out into the community to recognize some of the incredible youth we have in our city with the help of Circle K,” says acting Sergeant Youssef Abbas of the Calgary Police Service. “Rewarding young Calgarians for their small acts of kindness can make a big impact in the relationship we are always working to strengthen between Calgarians and the Calgary Police Service.”
