Police are releasing CCTV footage of a theft of a very distinctive truck with hopes of identifying a suspect.

On Saturday, Feb 1, 2020, at approximately 1 a.m., an unknown man broke into the fenced compound surrounding Divita Auto Design Shop, located at 5306 3 Street S.E. While inside the yard, the suspect loaded a custom gold 2018 Dodge Ram truck onto a flatbed trailer and towed it away using a green Dodge Ram truck.

We began investigating and on Thursday, Feb. 27, 2020, at approximately 9:30 a.m., the stolen truck was located heavily damaged down an embankment in McLean Creek.

Investigators are now asking the public for their assistance in identifying the man seen in the CCTV footage. Officers would also like to talk to anyone who may have seen the gold Dodge Ram being towed on a flatbed trailer, or who may have information about the green Dodge Ram used to commit the theft.

The stolen 2018 Dodge Ram had custom gold paint on the exterior and with a blue frame and interior. The stolen truck had a number of after-market modifications including a noticeable lift.

Given its unique and distinctive appearance, police believe that someone in the community may remember seeing this truck.

The suspect vehicle is described as a green Dodge Ram, with lighter-colour paneling on the sides.

Photos of the stolen vehicle and CCTV footage of the suspect vehicle are available on The City of Calgary Newsroom.
