CCTV released in serious assault investigation

Investigators have located CCTV images of people believed to have information in relation to a serious assault on a woman downtown that occurred two weeks ago, and are asking anyone with information about the identity of these individuals to come forward.

Shortly after 12:30 a.m., on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2022, police were called to the 100 block of Eighth Avenue S.W., for reports that a woman had been found unconscious and badly assaulted. She was transported to hospital in life-threatening condition.

Investigators believe the woman was walking with a friend downtown when they walked past another group of individuals and an altercation occurred, culminating in a severe assault on the victim by several individuals in the group. Officers are hoping to speak to the individuals to identify what role each may, or may not, have had in the altercation and subsequent assault. CCTV images of the individuals sought are attached for reference, as well as images of two vehicles that are believed to be associated to the group.
