CCTV images released in relation to April 2016 homicide

The Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit is releasing CCTV images of an individual who is believed to have information in relation to the April 2016 homicide of Harsimran BIRDI, 20.

At approximately 8:30 a.m., on Thursday, April 7, 2016, police were called to the 9700 block of Harvest Hills Link N.E., for reports of a body lying in the alley. It is believed this was a targeted incident.

Witnesses have told investigators about a disturbance in the alley where BIRDI was found. They also described two vehicles fleeing the scene.

The man that police would like to speak to is described as being of Middle Eastern descent, approximately 5’8” tall and 135 lbs., with dark brown hair. CCTV images of him are available on The City of Calgary Newsroom.

It is alleged this man is linked to a 1995 - 2004 grey Nissan Pathfinder. The vehicle is believed to have significant front end damage. The second vehicle of interest is believed to be a brown 2002 - 2004 Chevrolet Venture. Pictures of similar vehicles are posted on The City of Calgary Newsroom for reference.
