Calgary’s largest youth hiring event returns March 26, showcasing opportunity for the city’s next generation
The City of Calgary’s Youth Employment Centre (YEC) is proud to announce the return of Calgary’s largest hiring event for young people. The 2026 Youth Hiring Fair will take place on Thursday, March 26, from 1:30 to 6 p.m. at the Big Four Building, Stampede Park.
The Youth Hiring Fair is a free, in‑person event designed for job seekers ages 15–24, including high school students, post‑secondary students, recent graduates and young adults entering the workforce. Eighty employers will be on site and actively hiring for thousands of part‑time, full‑time, seasonal and permanent positions.
Hosted by the YEC, the fair connects motivated young people with employers ready to hire—creating real, immediate opportunities for youth to start or advance their careers in Calgary. “Many young people are facing real barriers when it comes to finding work,” says Ian Fleming, director of Recreation & Social Programs with The City of Calgary. “The Youth Hiring Fair helps remove some of those barriers by giving youth direct access to employers, information and opportunities that can be hard to reach on their own.”
For more than 25 years, the Youth Hiring Fair has helped strengthen Calgary’s youth workforce, connecting over 2,000 employers with more than 100,000 young people. Each year, over 5,000 youth attend the fair to gain job‑search experience, explore career pathways and secure employment.
Make the Hiring Fair work for you
To help youth make the most of the event, the YEC encourages job seekers to prepare ahead of time and visit the centre for free, one-on-one support.
Youth can drop in to the YEC at 315 10 Ave S.E., weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., to receive personalized help with resumes, interview preparation and job‑search strategies. No appointment is required. “Meeting employers face‑to‑face is a huge opportunity for youth and preparation makes all the difference,” says Tara Huxley, team lead at the YEC. “We encourage youth to visit the YEC ahead of the Hiring Fair so they feel confident and ready to make a strong impression.”
The YEC offers free, year‑round employment services and is proud to support all youth at every stage of their job search.
