Calgary Transit’s Backstage Tour is coming soon!

We're giving Calgary Transit customers the chance to get VIP access to the Oliver Bowen Maintenance Facility to see how we roll.

Customers can sign up for a free, behind-the-scenes guided tour, and get a firsthand look at how we keep our light rail vehicles on track – from the wheelsets to where they get their power from, and what happens when they’re done for the day. It’s a great opportunity for transit enthusiasts of all ages to see our CTrains in a whole new way.

On this tour, customers will:

  • Learn the train-related terminology for some key equipment – like bogies and pantographs – and see the part they play in keeping the CTrains running.
  • Get up close to trains – safely! And see them from whole new angles.
  • Tour a facility that’s not usually open to the public, and meet our team who work hard behind the scenes.
  • Enjoy other fun Calgary Transit activities and attractions.

The backstage tour takes place Saturday, Oct. 1, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with tours running every 15 minutes. Each tour will last approximately 60 minutes.

Attending this event is FREE, with transportation provided between the Oliver Bowen Maintenance Facility and McKnight-Westwinds LRT station. But like all exclusive events space is limited.

To register for the backstage tour, call 403-537-7903
Registration is open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. from Monday to Friday. Reservations for tour times are first come, first served, and spaces will fill up fast! Deadline is Sept. 28.
