Calgary Transit looking for local artist to design Transit Ambassador vests

Calgary - Calgary Transit is looking for emerging artists who are interested in working with us to give our Transit Ambassador vests some pizzazz.

We’ll be providing our Transit Ambassadors with new red vests that, while functional and provide recognition, are rather boring on their own. We need your help to add some flair! The new vests and design will serve to immediately identify Ambassadors and distinguish them from law enforcement officers.

“This is a great opportunity for us to showcase our local talent and culture,” says Stephen Tauro, Communications and Information Lead at Calgary Transit. “Incorporating work from a local artist will bring a unique and creative element to our Transit Ambassador uniforms.”

This competition is open to artists between the ages of 16 and 30 who live in Calgary. The deadline to apply is Monday, April 24, 2023, and the winning artist will be contacted at the beginning of May. For application instructions and requirements, visit calgarytransit.com/vestdesign.

Calgary Transit introduced the Transit Ambassador program in December as a way to maintain visibility for our customers on CTrains and platforms. Transit Ambassadors engage with customers, answer questions and help with wayfinding, as well as provide customer service during planned and unplanned service disruptions.
