Calgary teacher charged with voyeurism
We have charged one man following a sexually-motivated offence that occurred at a southwest Calgary school in May 2023.
On Tuesday, May 30, 2023, administrators from Chinook Winds Adventist Academy contacted police to report that while alone in a classroom, a teacher had engaged in an inappropriate sexual act while allegedly watching students through a window.
Detectives from our District 4 General Investigations Unit were assigned and conducted a thorough investigation, which included speaking to several witnesses and an analysis of evidence. On Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2023, one man was arrested and charged.
Nathanial Arthur GORDON, 41, of Calgary, has been charged with one count of voyeurism. He will next appear in court on Thursday, Sept. 28, 2023.
Investigators would like to thank the Chinook Winds Adventist School administration for their ongoing co-operation during this investigation.
It is believed that this was a sexually-motivated offence, however, currently there is no evidence that indicates any children were victimized. Additional resources on recognizing, responding and reporting abuse are available through the Luna Child and Youth Advocacy Centre.
