Calgary Police Service to participate in 2025 Polar Plunge for Special Olympics Alberta

We’re freezin’ for a reason! Each year, the Calgary Police Service, along with other law enforcement agencies, take part in the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) Polar Plunge, benefiting more than 3,000 Special Olympics Alberta athletes.

The LETR Polar Plunge is more than a fundraiser, it’s a powerful display of unity and support. When law enforcement, families, friends, and community members take the icy plunge, they make a direct impact on the lives of Special Olympics athletes. Every splash fuels their passion, opens doors to new opportunities, and empowers them to succeed in sport and life.

This 13th annual LETR Polar Plunge at Arbour Lake will feature participants from the Alberta Sheriffs, Alberta Corrections, Calgary Police Service, Calgary 9-1-1, Calgary Emergency Management Agency, Calgary Transit Public Safety, Calgary Remand Centre, RCMP, and Special Olympics athletes, along with many other law enforcement volunteers.

Opening ceremonies will start at 10 a.m., with the first plunge set for 10:30 a.m.
