Calgary police seek witnesses to fatal pedestrian collision

We are looking for the public’s help to assist with an investigation into a fatal pedestrian collision that occurred early Friday morning along Memorial Drive.

On August 13, 2021, at approximately 12:45 a.m., a motorcycle operated by a 17-year-old male was travelling eastbound in the 800 block of Memorial Drive N.E. when a 35-year-old female pedestrian entered the roadway from the LRT right-of-way.

The motorcycle and rider struck the pedestrian, knocking them to the roadway. The motorcycle fell and slid to a stop further down the road.

The pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. The motorcyclist suffered serious, life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital.
