Calgary Police seek assistance in southwest sexual assault

The Calgary Police Service is seeking public assistance to identify an alleged sexual assault suspect for an incident that occurred on a bus last month.

On Saturday, Jan. 19, 2019, at approximately 3 p.m., a female youth and an unknown man got onto a bus in the southwest community of Somerset. Shortly after she boarded the bus, the man sat beside her.

The man allegedly touched the female victim inappropriately while she was sitting beside him, and again as she got up to exit the bus near the intersection of Shawinigan Drive and Shawbrooke Drive S.W.

The man later exited the bus at Shannon Ave S.W., in between Shannon Garden and Shannon Common S.W.

The male suspect is described as Asian, with a fair complexion, medium build, approximately 60 – 70 years old, with balding hair on top and gray hair on the sides. The man was wearing a brown winter jacket and a hat.
