Calgary police look for wheelchair stolen in break-in

The Calgary Police Service Centralized Break and Enter Teams are seeking public assistance to locate a wheelchair that was stolen in a northeast Calgary break and enter.

Sometime between Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2017, and 10 a.m., on Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2017, unknown culprit(s) broke into a detached garage located in the 1500 block of Mardale Way N.E., by prying open the man door. Once inside, culprit(s) stole a black Invacare TDX-SP electric wheelchair, worth almost $10,000.

A suspect description is not available at this time.

Investigators are asking anyone who deals with or is purchasing a second-hand wheelchair to be on the lookout. The stolen wheelchair’s serial number is #09GE000007.
