Calgary police investigating suspicious death

We are currently investigating a suspicious death after an injured man was brought to a local hospital and later died.

At approximately 4:30 a.m., on Saturday, July 24, 2021, a man in his early 20s was dropped off at the emergency department of the Peter Lougheed Centre. The victim subsequently died of injuries believed to have been sustained in a confrontation with an unknown individual.

Police believe the man was injured in an altercation that took place at roughly 3:30 a.m. the same morning at a Highland Park residence, located in the 100 block of 42 Avenue N.E.

The investigation is ongoing and no further information is available.

An autopsy is scheduled for Monday, July 26, 2021.
