Calgary man facing 18 charges in series of break and enters

We have charged one man who is believed to be responsible for multiple commercial break and enters at various locations across the city.

Between Thursday, Nov. 30, 2023, and Friday, April 26, 2024, police responded to and investigated a total of seven commercial break and enters in the communities of Midnapore, Highland Park, Willow Park, Westgate, Bowness and Brentwood.

Stolen merchandise included home renovation supplies, construction tools, bicycles, eyeglasses, vapes, liquor and other items.

After extensive review of CCTV footage, investigators were able to identify the suspect. On Saturday, May 4, 2024, police executed a search warrant at a residence in the 0 to 100 block of Bedridge Way N.E.

As a result, Steven Edward MOLNAR, 53, was arrested and is charged with three counts each of break and enter, driving while disqualified, possession of stolen property and breach of a probation order. He is also charged with six counts of breaching a release order.

A firearm, a stolen truck, a stolen e-bike and other items were also seized.

MOLNAR is scheduled to next appear in court on Tuesday, May 14, 2024.
