Calgary man facing 12 charges in drug seizure
District 6 officers have laid a dozen charges against a man who was found to be in possession of nearly 430 grams of various drugs and weapons.
On Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026, police observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed along northbound Macleod Trail near Heritage Drive S.E. Officers safely pulled the vehicle over and confirmed through standard field sobriety testing that the driver was believed to be impaired by drugs.
The driver was arrested, and officers seized the following items:
- 425 grams methamphetamine with an approximate street value of $3,035
- 2.5 grams of fentanyl with an approximate street value of $220
- 2.3 grams of cocaine with an approximate street value of $250
- Brass knuckles
- Bear spray
- Approximately $3,700 in cash
As a result, Kevin Douglas DALTON, 46, is charged with:
- Two counts of possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace
- Two counts of possession of a concealed weapon
- Three counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking
- One count of possession of proceeds of crime
- One count of impaired operation of a motor vehicle
- One count of speeding
- One count of operating a motor vehicle without a license
- One count of possession of more than one identification
DALTON is next scheduled to appear in court on Friday, Feb. 27, 2026.
