Calgary man charged in drug and firearm seizure
A Calgary man is facing 11 criminal charges after police seized multiple firearms and drugs from a residence in the community of Lynnwood earlier this month.
After police were made aware of suspected drug activity occurring at a home where a small child was believed to be present, officers immediately began investigating.
On Friday, March 14, 2025, police executed multiple search warrants resulting in the arrest of one man and the seizure of the following items:
- A 12-gauge breacher shotgun with the serial number removed
- A 22-caliber rifle, stored with ammunition
- 25 grams of cocaine
- 10 grams of methamphetamine
The child was not present during the warrant executions and is currently safe.
Mitchell Scott WOODS, 32, is charged with five counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, one count of possession of the proceeds of crime, two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm, two counts of careless storage of a firearm and one count of possession of a firearm with the serial number altered.
WOODS is scheduled to next appear in court on Monday, March 31, 2025.
