Calgary Fire Department Responds to a 2 Alarm Fire in Pineridge.

Just after 8:30 pm this evening, Calgary 911 received multiple calls for a house fire on Pinecliff Close NE.

The Calgary Fire Department was dispatched and first arriving crews were met with a significant amount of smoke and flames on the exterior of a duplex, with the fire extending to the interior and to the roof.

Crews attacked the flames  aggressively with large exterior handlines and were able to quickly bring the fire under control. Three occupants of the source unit along with their dogs were able to self evacuate, one of the adult occupants was assessed by AHS, but was not transported. Two occupants in the attached unit were able to self evacuate with no injuries.  A second alarm was called  due to the fire conditions and to relieve crews working in the extreme heat. There was significant damage damage to the home.

ATCO and Enmax were called to the scene to control the utilities. CPS and AHS crews were also on scene to assist.

Calgary Fire Department crews, including a Fire Investigator, remain on scene to ensure there is no extension and to determine the cause and origin of the fire.

The Calgary Fire Department would like to ask citizens that have photos, video or information regarding this fire, especially prior to the Fire Departments arrival, to email piofire@calgary.ca
