Calgary Fire Crews Battle Taradale Garage Fire

At approximately 10:45 on the morning of Monday, December 5th, 9-1-1 started receiving multiple calls reporting a fully involved garage fire on Taradale Place N.E.  Upon arrival of fire crews, the fire had already moved from the attached garage into the house.  Firefighters quickly started suppression with various hose lines and performed a search for any victims. Two adults and their son had evacuated the home. The adult son was assessed by EMS for smoke inhalation and released.

No other injuries were reported as a result of this fire. Damage to the home is extensive with some slight exposure damage to one neighbouring  residence.  It is unknown if there were working smoke alarms in the house of origin.

A Calgary Fire Department Fire Investigator is on scene to determine the origin and cause of this fire.  If members of the public have any photos or video of this fire especially prior to CFD arrival on scene, please email piofire@calgary.ca
