Calgarians invited to shape the future Green Line LRT Downtown Segment

Calgarians are invited to help shape the future of the Green Line Light Rail Transit (LRT) as The City explores an elevated route through the Beltline and downtown. It will influence how people move, connect and experience the core for decades. Calgarians can learn about the concept and share feedback from Feb. 9 to March 2.

For many, the Green Line LRT will be part of daily life — a link to work, school, services, entertainment, and each other. That’s why this engagement is focused on listening to the people who will use it. Over the coming weeks, Calgarians are invited to explore the elevated concept and share what matters most to them as the design evolves.

Feedback will inform the Functional Plan for the Downtown Segment. An elevated route between the Event Centre/Grand Central Station along 10 Avenue S. in the Beltline and 2 Street S.W. downtown is being studied. The Functional Plan will advance the design, validate the cost estimates, understand potential impacts to existing infrastructure and ensure the project is broadly supported by Calgarians prior to starting construction.

Engagement opportunities include an online survey, virtual information sessions on Feb. 10 and 28, and in-person drop-ins at Memorial Park Library from Feb. 18 to 22. Details are available at engage.calgary.ca/greenlinedowntown.
