Calgarians invited to join discussion about future of beloved inner-city area

The City of Calgary is hosting a tradeshow in one of Calgary’s beloved inner-city areas this Saturday, March 2. This is an opportunity for residents, and all Calgarians, to find out about The City projects and future-shaping work that is happening in the North Hill Communities area.

“We know people want to get involved in local projects, but often can’t make it out to multiple City events,” said Troy Gonzalez, Senior Planner with The City of Calgary. “This event gives people the opportunity to discuss and provide feedback on multiple projects under one roof.”

This is a newly designed community planning tradeshow that offers a one-stop shop for residents to learn about and provide input on a number of City projects and initiatives with local connections. From Planning and Transportation, to Parks, Recreation, Calgary Housing and Main Streets, City representatives will be on hand to share information and discuss projects and activities.

The North Hill Communities area includes: Edmonton Trail N.E., Centre St. N, 4 St. N.W, 16 Avenue N and the nine surrounding communities (Highland Park, Mount Pleasant, Tuxedo Park, Winston Heights-Mountview, Crescent Heights, Renfrew, Rosedale, Capitol Hill, Thorncliffe Greenview–south of McKnight Blvd., and Greenview Industrial).

There will be over 15 information booths, four booths collecting project-specific feedback – including engagement opportunities for our youngest citizens, so there will be something of interest for everyone.

“We want to chat with people about the North Hill Communities area, the changes happening there now, and how they would like to see the area change and evolve in the future,” said Troy Gonzalez, Senior Planner with The City of Calgary.
