Body found in Dover not suspicious

The Calgary Police Service has determined that the death of a person found in a Dover pond yesterday morning was not the result of a crime.

At approximately 10:15 a.m., on Thursday, Sept. 15, 2016, police and the Calgary Fire Department were called to a pond in the 3200 block of 26 Street S.E., after a citizen found a body floating in the water. The Homicide Unit was called to investigate, as is standard procedure in undetermined deaths.

Since the death is not a criminal matter, no further information can be released.
