Autopsies complete in double shooting

The Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit is continuing to investigate a double fatal shooting that occurred on Sunday night.

At approximately 7:55 p.m., on Sunday, May 21, 2017, police were called to a parking lot in the area of 130 Avenue and 48 Street S.E., for reports of gunshots. Two men were found deceased upon arrival.

Investigators interviewed approximately a dozen witnesses after the shooting and believe that the two victims arrived at the parking lot together. A third man, who arrived to the location in a separate vehicle, is alleged to be responsible for the shooting.

Autopsies have now been completed by The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and the victims can be identified as Anees Ismail AMR, 26, of Calgary, and Colin Brendan REITBERGER, 23, of Calgary.

Detectives continue to review CCTV footage from the area and the investigation is ongoing.
