Assistance needed to identify arson suspect - Bridgeland

Photos in relation to an arson in the community of Bridgeland are being released in order to identity a suspect.

At about 3 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 2, 2020, police were notified by the Calgary Fire Department that a rear detached garage in the 700 block of McDougall Rd N.E., was on fire.

The property owner was home at the time but was unaware of the fire until he saw emergency personnel show up on scene.

Neighbourhood inquiries resulted in identifying a suspect that was last seen in the area of Edmonton Trail and 1 Avenue N.E., on the day of the fire.

Photos of the suspect show he was at the Bridgeland/Memorial LRT station prior to the fire.

The man is approximately 5’10” to 6’ tall with a slim build. He was wearing dark jeans, a blue and beige jacket, grey baseball cap, grey scarf and sunglasses. When he was seen at the station, he had a bike with him. Photos are available on The City of Calgary Newsroom.
