Applications open for City boards, commissions and committees
The City Clerk’s Office is accepting applications to fill Public Member vacancies on the following 25 Boards, Commissions and Committees (BCCs):

- Anti-Racism Action Committee
- Assessment Review Board
- Audit Committee
- Beltline Community Investment Fund Committee
- Calgary Aboriginal Urban Advisory Committee
- Calgary Airport Authority
- Calgary Planning Commission
- Calgary Police Commission
- Calgary Salutes Coordinating Committee
- Calgary Salutes’ Community Engagement Subcommittee
- Calgary Salutes’ Friends of HMCS Calgary Subcommittee
- Calgary Salutes’ Heritage and History Subcommittee
- Calgary Transit Access Eligibility Appeal Board
- Climate Advisory Committee
- Combative Sports Commission
- Community Peace Officer Oversight Committee

Applications can be submitted from 8 a.m. on July 31 to 4 p.m. on Sept. 1, 2026.
BCCs play an important role in shaping how The City serves Calgarians: they provide advice, guidance and recommendations to Council and, in some cases, provide oversight or decide appeals concerning City matters. Serving as a Public Member on a BCC is a meaningful way to support and strengthen our community and help inform decisions that impact Calgarians.
Who can apply
Applicants must be at least 18 years old and either a resident of Calgary or an Indigenous person residing within the Treaty 7 region. Applicants must also meet the eligibility requirements for each BCC.
To apply, applicants can complete an application form at calgary.ca/boards. Applications are reviewed based on the skills and qualifications of applicants.
Public members may receive stipends and reimbursement of reasonable expenses when participating in official meetings.
Treaty 7 Indigenous applicants encouraged to apply
Indigenous persons who reside outside Calgary but within the Treaty 7 region are eligible and encouraged to apply, including members of the Blackfoot Confederacy (Siksika, Piikani, Kainai), Îethka Nakoda Wîcastabi First Nations (Chiniki, Bearspaw, Goodstoney), Tsuut’ina First Nation and Métis citizens, as well as those from the Otipemisiwak Métis Government in Districts 1–6.
